Bringing World-Leading Building Science to the Southern Hemisphere

Discover our Sponsorship and Exhibition Opportunities

Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre,
19-22 April 2027

Every three years, the International Building Physics Conference (IBPC) brings together the researchers, industry leaders and practitioners shaping the future of buildings.

In April 2027, BRANZ will host IBPC for its first time in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s a rare opportunity for organisations to connect directly with the global building science community, all in one place.

More than 450 speaker proposals have already been received from 40 countries and 254 organisations, creating one of the largest building science events ever held in New Zealand.

At a glance:

  • 450+ speaker proposals received
  • 40 countries represented
  • 254 organisations engaged
  • First-ever Southern Hemisphere IBPC

Applying science to real-world building challenges

IBPC 2027 focuses on the issues shaping the future of buildings and construction:

  • Energy efficiency and building performance
  • Building envelope performance
  • Advanced materials and emerging technologies
  • Indoor air and environmental quality
  • Climate and outdoor environments
  • Human factors and occupant behaviour
  • Emerging issues shaping the future of buildings

Turning science into action: Scaling Kiwi retrofits

More than 1.6 million Kiwi homes are cold, damp or cost too much to run.

Alongside IBPC, BRANZ is bringing together the sector, government and international experts to launch a call to action on affordable, scalable retrofits for New Zealand homes.

For sponsors, it’s a high-profile opportunity to support long-term practical industry change and help shape the future of better, healthier and more affordable homes.
